No Interest Loan Scheme


Several years ago the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) was formed to provide loans for refugees struggling with their finances.

Loans of up to $1000 is made available and the recipients repaid their loans through direct debit on their bank account or from their Centrelink entitlements.

NILS helps our refugee brothers and sisters in various ways such as rent assistance, payment of bonds, payment of overdue accounts, or assist family members come to Australia, helping to give them a life of freedom.

Our Current Position

• 175 loans are being repaid

• 27 families on the waiting list [al urgent cases]

• $27,000 required urgently to reduce the waiting list

Our Appeal

Parishioners are asked to donate $10 per month for 12 months, a total of $120 a year. However, any amount you can afford would still help to support this scheme. Those who would like to help, download the donation form or complete an ONLINE Donation Form
or contact the parish office.

Annual receipt will be available.

Loan Applications

Loan applications are made through the Sudanese Parish Worker, Mathew Bul and approved for needy causes as funds become available. Mathew is available by appointment on Wednesdays at the Presbytery to process loan applications.
