::FOOD BANK::

Food Bank continues each Thursday - 10-12 noon and 3:30pm–4pm & 1st Friday 2:00-3:00pm. Open to people with Health Care Cards living in Brimbank.

::Building Blocks::

A new group for young mums with preschool children, aged under 25 years, living in Brimbank, wishing to make new friends for yourself and your children, interested in learning new strategies for parenting your children. Building Blocks is a weekly opportunity to meet with other young mums and their children–commencing in October at Good Shepherd House, 168 Main Road East, St Albans. ::HEALTHY MOTHERS HEALTHY BABIES::

The program is seeking donations for pregnant women or mothers who are socially and financially disadvantaged. Some suggestions but not limited to are: cots, bassinettes, porta cots, baby car seats, prams, nappies/bags, baby clothes (newborn only), bottles, bedding and accessories. Contact the Team on 93135000 arrange drop off or pick up of items.

::VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR BREAKFAST CLUB BEFORE SCHOOL::

Holy Eucharist School is planning to set up a breakfast club before school each morning starting in term 2. This will be supported by Brimbank Council Initiative & Rotary Club Keilor. We are looking for volunteers to help prepare, serve & clean up. If interested please contact Pat at school office on 9366 2899 & leave your name & number & someone will contact you.

::CENTACARE CATHOLIC FAMILY SERVICES::

Urgently in need of volunteers to assist in a number of its refugee programs in St Albans and surrounding areas. Volunteers required to help in our women's sewing groups, computer groups, refugee groups, cooking etc. If you are able to spare several hours each week please contact the Volunteer Coordinator on 84171208 or email Frank.Tomasetig@centacaremelbourne.org.au for further details.


No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)

Several years ago the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) was formed to provide loans for refugees struggling with their finances.

Loans of up to $1000 is made available and the recipients repaid their loans through direct debit on their bank account or from their Centrelink entitlements.

NILS helps our refugee brothers and sisters in various ways such as rent assistance, payment of bonds, payment of overdue accounts, or assist family members come to Australia, helping to give them a life of freedom. [Read more]


Loaves & Fish Food Bank

A pastoral initiative enabling people on Health Care Cards to obtain fresh fruit and vegetables Wednesday to Friday each week from 2pm–4pm in the parish grounds.

A larger Food Bank operates on the first Friday of the month from 1:30pm to 4pm in the parish grounds.

Parishioners are invited to fill up the red bags with non perishable foods and bring to Masses the weekend before. Many thanks to our volunteers who have made this support service possible. [Read more]


• Parish Playgroups

Successful weekly playgroups have been run in conjunction with the Westside Circus. It is hoped this can be continued in 2010.
